Orders & lab inbox

Orders & lab inbox

External labs ordering and result review. Find it at /orders and the inhouse-POC variant at /admin/inhouse-labs.

Order a lab

From an encounter or directly under /orders:

  1. Pick a panel (CBC, CMP, A1C, etc.) or individual test by LOINC.
  2. Pollen8 maps to the lab’s compendium (LabCorp, Quest, regional).
  3. Order placed as a FHIR ServiceRequest with the patient’s most recent fasting status + relevant Dx codes auto-attached for medical-necessity gating.

Lab inbox (abnormal first)

The inbox sorts results by clinical priority — abnormal-first (critical → high → low → normal). Each result row shows the trend sparkline (last 5 values) so deltas surface without clicking in.

AI trend summary card on the right: “A1C declining 7.4 → 6.8 over 6 months; consistent with current regimen efficacy.” Citing the underlying Observation resources by id.

Inhouse POC labs

/admin/inhouse-labs — point-of-care ordering for tests performed in-clinic (rapid strep, urinalysis, fingerstick glucose). Provider enters the result directly; the system creates a FHIR Observation with category=point-of-care.

Care-plan auto-flip

When a result lands that matches a care-plan trigger (e.g., “A1C below 7.0”), the care plan auto-advances the matching Goal to achieved. Provider sees a notification, can revert if it was a fluke value.

HL7 v2 MLLP inbound

For tenants with lab interfaces, inbound ORU^R01 messages over MLLP are parsed and mapped to FHIR Observation. The inbound bus is configured in Connections.
