Specialty modules — dental & optometry

Specialty-specific surfaces that share the same FHIR resource graph as primary care but add modality-specific charting + billing.

Dental

Lives under /admin/specialty → Dental.

  • Odontogram — tooth-by-tooth chart with surface annotation (occlusal, mesial, distal, lingual, buccal). Click a tooth to see its history; click a surface to chart a finding (caries, filling, crown, missing, etc.).
  • Perio charting — 6-point probing depths per tooth + bleeding
    • recession.
  • Dental CDT codes — billing layer speaks CDT (D0120, D2330, etc.) and emits ADA 2024 claim format on top of the standard 837D submission.
  • Hygiene scheduling — separate prophy / SRP slot types from the main appointment book.

Optometry

Lives under /admin/specialty → Optometry.

  • Refraction chart — manifest / cycloplegic / final Rx with OD/OS columns, sphere / cylinder / axis / add / prism.
  • Slit-lamp + dilated exam notes — modality-aware templates with the standard observation taxonomy.
  • Contact lens fitting — brand / power / base curve / diameter, trial / dispense / re-evaluation workflow.
  • Frames + lab orders — optical-shop side; orders flow to your configured lab via that lab’s API or fax.

Shared with primary care

Both specialty modules write to the same Patient + Encounter resources as primary care. Billing flows through the same scrubber + 837 builder. The same scribe works inside dental + optom encounters.

Compliance posture

Dental + optometry encounters carry the same per-call AuthContext + Why trace as the rest of pollenix.health. EPCS gating applies if your dental/optom practice prescribes controlled substances (rare but supported).
